Me and my footprint – Material Oxford

Thanks to research commissioned by Oxford City Council for Low Carbon Oxford, we now know that each day Oxford needs a whopping 12,000 tonnes of material to keep running, its material footprint: that is the equivalent of a 1 and ¾ mile freight train every day.

The research, ‘Material Oxford‘, is the first stage in a process for the city of understand the flow of natural resources that underpin its ability to function so that it can make informed choices about how to manage its footprint in the future.

Read more about the research, and download the report, on the Low Carbon Oxford web site.
